Beavers on the Move 4/23/14

In Jacksonville, FL beavers have been busy. When a call came into the Jacksonville, FL office that beavers were destroying property off of an inner city road, everyone was surprised. Field Technicians were amazed to find numerous downed trees that were obviously chewed by beavers. First Coast Wildlife Services CEO, Kyle Waltz has been living in Jacksonville his whole life and has never seen or heard of anyone having a beaver problem. Kyle: "I have seen some strange animals come and go from time to time, but beavers need very specific habitat requirements, and the city of Jacksonville, FL doesn't offer that kind of habitat". Wildlife Technicians set traps and were able to catch one beaver. The landowner has not had any problems since and is beaver free as of now.
